How We Review Trans AI Services

We score every service on the same eight criteria and publish them here so a number on this site means something you can check. The scorecard applies to every review, the comparison table on the home page and the ranking on the reviews hub, so a service carries the same score everywhere it appears.

Our reviews are built from what a visitor can reach without paying: pricing pages, help centres, public feature pages, published policies and app store listings. Every fact is dated. We do not create accounts, buy plans or enter card details to produce a review, so anything that sits behind a signup is reported as not verifiable rather than guessed.

The eight criteria and their weights

Each criterion is scored from 1 to 10 in half-point steps. The overall score is the weighted average, rounded to one decimal. Trans character support carries the largest weight because it is the reason this site exists: a companion app that cannot produce the character you came for is the wrong app, however good its chat is.

Trans character support · 20%Whether you can build or find a trans woman character without fighting the product. A 9–10 means a selectable trans option in the character builder plus a public trans or futa category. A 7–8 means a public category or tagged characters exist but the builder path could not be confirmed from public pages. A 5–6 means trans identity only works by describing it in chat. A 4 or lower means the service says it has no support.
Chat depth and memory · 15%How long a character stays consistent: stated memory features, message limits on paid plans, roleplay controls and what the provider says its characters forget. An 8 needs unlimited paid messaging and a documented memory feature; a 5 means limits or no memory statement.
Image generation · 15%Pictures inside the chat and a standalone generator, what they cost per image, and whether explicit output is part of the paid plan. An 8 has both surfaces with published costs; a 5 has one surface or no cost information.
Character customization · 10%How many traits the builder exposes: body, face, ethnicity, voice, personality, relationship type. Counted from help pages and the public builder, not from marketing adjectives.
Video and voice · 10%Voice messages, calls and video clips. A feature listed as beta or regionally limited is scored lower than one that is generally available.
Price and free tier · 10%The entry price in the provider's own currency, what the free tier really allows, and how much of the pricing is visible before you create an account. Hidden pricing costs points here.
Content rules clarity · 10%Whether the provider publishes a readable content policy, explains moderation and gives a way to appeal a wrongly flagged message.
Billing, refunds and privacy · 10%Discreet billing descriptor, refund window, what happens to unused credits, and whether you can delete chats and data.

What separates a 9 from a 6

A 9 or higher is a feature that is documented by the provider, available on the paid plan without special conditions and described clearly enough that a reader knows what they are buying; a 10 means it leads this group outright. A 6 to 8 is a feature that exists but is limited, gated or only partly documented. Scores of 5 and below mean the feature is missing, hidden behind signup or described by the provider as unsupported.

What we could not verify

Exact token and chip costs per image, message limits inside some free tiers and several current prices are only visible after registration. Where that is the case the review says so and shows the date we checked. Output quality is judged from the provider's public galleries and demos, not from a paid session, and we say that in each review instead of claiming results from sessions we did not run.

How often scores change

Prices, plan names and features in this category change every few months. Each review shows a checked date, and the whole scorecard is rechecked when a provider changes its plans or policies. If you spot something out of date, write to contact@ai-trans.chat and we will recheck it.
